Beaver Dam Council District 11 Vacancy Has Five Candidates

(Beaver Dam) Beaver Dam Mayor Bobbi Marck provided an update on the effort to fill a vacancy on the common council. The District 11 seat is currently unfilled. Marck says the council will be hearing from the candidates soon.

โ€œWe currently have five candidates for the District 11 vacant seat,โ€ says Marck. โ€œWe anticipate that at our [May 5th] council meeting youโ€™ll be hearing from all five candidates and be asked to vote on the one who you think will do the best job to fill Kayโ€™s seat.โ€

The seat had been filled by Kay Appenfeldt who decided not to seek reelection in the spring and no one from the district chose to run.โ€ฏDistrict 11 is in the northwest corner of Beaver Dam, bounded on the west by the lake and on the south by Denning Avenue.

Council members are paid $325 per month and serve approximately eight hours per month.โ€ฏDuties include attending council meetings, which are held in the evenings of the first and third Monday every month.โ€ฏ
