(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Common Council this week updated its use of American Rescue Plan Act funding. A resolution passed last March designated over $300,000 in APRA dollars to upgrade the LED street lightening as well as costs towards the fire and rescue training center.
Beaver Dam’s Deputy Finance Manager Kayla Larson says grant funding has become available for the LED street lighting project but requires a match that cannot include federal dollars.
“The original amount that was approved was $320,000…of which we currently have $156,000 that is unspent and so we’re looking to move $66,000 and dedicate that towards that DPW chipper truck,” says Larson. “So, that would leave about $90,000 left for the use of LED upgrades depending on what the grant may or may not be able to cover when that project is coming to the end.”
The resolution was unanimously approved.
