(Beaver Dam) It’s a new year, and the Beaver Dam Community Activities and Services Department has a new name. Residents can now refer to this group as the Beaver Dam Recreation Department. Director of the newly named department Jana Stephens joined Community Comment to share more information.
Stephens wanted to provide clarity for why this change has taken place. She says, “We are now the Recreation Department. We’ve kind of come full circle.” She continued, “We’ve always been the recreation department, we’ve provided that service and programming for the community. The name has changed over the years. We’ve been Parks and Recreation, and Community Activities and Services depending on how things are structured, and we just decided that we want to be clear [and] concise. We want our name to be recognizable.”
Stephens would go on to add that this change has been in progress for a while. She believes that this will improve introductions, branding, and clarity.
