(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam School District has announced its 2023 Wall of Fame Recipients. This year, there were two Friends of Education awards handed out. The award recognizes individuals and an organization who have given distinguished service to the district and its students.
Dr. Alan Ehrhardt
Dr. Ehrhardtโs dedication to education and service to students is evident in his involvement with district programs, including Project Aware, and his service as a member of the Board of Education from 1993-1999. Dr. Ehrhardt supported school music, drama, and athletic programs, in addition to his involvement with the High School FFA and local 4-H Clubs. Over the years, he sponsored FFA Awards, hosted tours of his farm along with hosting FFA meetings.
Dr. Ehrhardt led the way in providing annual vision screenings for elementary and preschool students. He understood the importance that good vision has on a childโs ability to learn. Through his leadership, approximately 1,400-1,600 students were tested each year since 2018. He was also involved with the AFS student exchange program which not only provided students from other countries and cultures the opportunity to experience a Beaver Dam education, but also for Beaver Dam students to learn about those countries and cultures.
