(Beaver Dam) The second annual Beaver Dam Police Department versus the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office charity softball game is this Saturday. Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says all funds raised will be donated to a local law enforcement family in financial need. He says the family is going through the challenges of dealing with a serious medical condition.
Beaver Dam Council President Mike Wissell is returning to ump the game alongside Beaver Dam School District Superintendent Mark DiStefano. Schmidt says as a way to raise money, there is a special fundraising challenge between Wissell and DiStefano. He says whoever raises the most money will get a pie in the face from the other.
There is no charge to attend as the money will be raised through concession sales, contests, and a 50/50 raffle. Schmidt says there are some fun items up for raffle including a chainsaw and ride-to-school from the Beaver Dam Police Department and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office for a local kid.
Patrol squads and fire trucks will be on display before the game starts. The event gets underway at 11am Saturday at the Beaver Dam Athletic Field West Diamond. First pitch is set for 12:30pm.
