BDACT Tell-A-Tale Puts On Shakespeare’s ‘As You Like It’

(Beaver Dam) Shakespeare once said, “all the world is a stage” and starting Thursday, middle schoolers will be saying that on the stage of the Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre. The Tell-A-Tale youth troupe is presenting As You Like It, which was penned by the bard in 1623. The play is not only directed by Enda Breadon of Beaver Dam, but he also adapted the script from the original Shakespeare play, boiling it down to 90 minutes of comedy.

The cast has genuinely embraced the centuries-old work, buying into their director’s philosophy that no one should ever read Shakespeare, they should only watch it on stage. As You Like It is on the stage of the Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre Thursday tonight, tomorrow, and Saturday at 7pm, along with a 2pm Saturday matinee.

As You Like It cast members Mae Armstrong, Kait Jameson, Kennedy Norris and Dylan Carnine joined Enda Breadon on WBEV’s Community Comment this week, listen here:
