BD PIGGLY WIGGLY RECIPE: 12.10.19

Holiday Party Mix

9 c. corn cereal squares (Rice, Corn, & Wheat Chex®)

4 c. popped popcorn

1 ½ c. dry roasted peanuts

½ c. butter or margarine

½ c. light corn syrup

1 c. packed brown sugar

1 ¾ c. “Holiday Shapes” morsels

½ tsp. baking soda

1 pkg. (7.5 oz.) white fudge covered pretzels

1 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 250°. Grease large roasting pan. Combine cereal, popped corn & peanuts in large bowl. Pour into prepared pan. Combine butter, brown sugar & corn syrup in medium heavy-duty saucepan. Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil without stirring for 5 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla & baking soda. Pour evenly over cereal mixture. Stir to coat. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Cool completely in pan, stirring frequently to break apart mixture. Stir in Holiday Shapes morsels & pretzels. Store in airtight container. (Can add 1 c. M & M’s (to match the holiday when adding pretzels & morsels). Yield: 5 quarts.

This came from my sister-in-law Laura. It works great ANY time of the year because you use colored M&M’s to match the holiday and has a great “salty/sweet” blend.
