ATV/UTV Trails Expanding In Dodge County

(Juneau) More riding options are becoming available for ATV and UTV riders within Dodge County. While many may be familiar with the Wild Goose Trail, Dodge County Recreation Deputy Jason Roy says the number of rideable routes is growing as more townships are opening their roadways to ATV and UTV use.

Roy says townships that allow ATV and UTV use on all roadways will indicate it with signage on the outskirts of the township, otherwise riders should stick to roads marked as individual routes. He says county highways are also being utilized as adjoining routes to go between townships, but state highways are not open to ATV or UTV use. Roy says riders should adhere to posted speed limits, saying the maximum speed limit for any ATV or UTV is 30MPH but may be slower in some townships.

While the growing number of routes will be patrolled by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Roy says that their goal is not to just issue citations. He says warnings and education will be their first steps, but repeated violations will result in the issuing of tickets. Roy says residents can call the Dodge County Sheriff’s office to report incidents involving these recreational vehicles.
