Arrest Warrant Issued For Burglary Suspect Who Failed To Appear In Court

(Beaver Dam) An arrest warrant was issued Monday for a Beaver Dam man who failed to appear in court. Charles Daniel is charged with felony Burglary and misdemeanor Theft and Criminal Damage to Property for allegedly breaking into the Beaver Dam Public Transit building in August. A worker reported that a window at the South Center Street building had been broken and a door was shattered. According to the criminal complaint, roughly $1,500 was taken. Staff reportedly told police that Daniel was one of the last people in the structure before the burglary. Video surveillance allegedly captured Daniel unplugging the camera. When questioned, Daniel at first denied the accusations but later reportedly admitted to his actions, saying he needed the money. If convicted, the 49-year-old faces no more than 14 years in prison. The arrest warrant was issued after he failed to make his initial appearance in a Dodge County courtroom.
