Area Players/Coaches Head To WBCA All-Star Game

A handful of area high school basketball coaches and graduated senior players will participate in The Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Boys & Girls All-Star Games this week at Just A Game Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells.

Watertown girls head coach Matt Stollberg and his assistants Erin Steuerwald and Andrew Woodward will be coaching the Division One Girls South Team.  Gosling alum Teya Maas will suit up for the D1 South Team.

Beaver Dam’s Natalie Jens and Paige Yagodinski will play for the Division Two North Girls Team.

Marshall alums Anna Lutz  and Laura Nickel will play for the D4 South Girls Team.

Rio’s Adeline Hutzler is on the Division 5 South Girls Teams.

On the boys side, Beaver Dam’s Nate Abel will play in the Division Two Game for the White Team.   In Division Four, Dodgeland’s Bill Otte will coach the Red Team while his son Sy will play on the Red Team.

The area is well represented on the D5 Boys White Team.  The coaching staff consists of Cambria-Friesland’s Derrick Smit, Rio’s Tim Struck and Rio’s Robert Staveness.   Playing on the D5 White Team are; Cambria-Friesland’s Kobe Smit and Griffen Hart, Hustisford’s Dylan Kuehl and Alex Egleston, Rio’s Jacob Rowe and Pierson Schneider and Randolph’s Brayden Haffele.

The girls games are scheduled for Wednesday, July 14th and the boys on Thursday, July 15th.

The event raises funds for The MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes against Childhood Cancer) and Camp Wawbeek of Wisconsin Dells
