Mayor Says Beaver Dam Will Wait Until Both Installments Of ARPA Funds Are In Before Spending

(Beaver Dam) Beaver Dam Mayor Becky Glewen says the city plans to wait until they have received both installments of the estimated $1.6-million-dollars in federal stimulus funds before choosing how best to spend it. Glewen says the regulations on how the money can be used seems to be in fluctuation, and as such they will wait to decide later how to allocate per government guidelines.

Beaver Dam, like most cities who are eligible for the American Rescue Plan Act funds, will have seen the first installment on or around June 25th, with the second and final installment scheduled to be deposited around a year later. Glewen says there are currently very broad areas in which the funds could be spent including workforce issues, business aid, and more. She adds that they are waiting on more information on how to use it. Beaver Dam will have until 2024 to commit the funds and up to 2026 to spend the money.
