(Juneau) Members with the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Dodge County are sharing some do’s and don’ts when it comes to Medicare card marketing. Disability Benefit Specialist Ashley Sanborn says card holders cannot laminate them.
“At the beginning when they issued these new versions of the card they told us that we could laminate…scammers have found ways to change numbers,” says Sanborn. “Just for your protection…if you have been one of those people who laminated, please, just ask for a new card so that you have the correct version.”
Elder Benefit Specialist Amanda Higgins says there is a way to print off a new Medicare card.
“If you have a Medicare account you can print off a new card on your own,” says Higgins. “But if you actually want to receive a new card that’s on that cardstock…that thicker paper…you would have to contact Social Security to request a new card.”
