(Campbellsport) A pair of Campbellsport High School students are in custody after the school’s resource officer received information about a potential threat to school safety.  The initial investigation revealed that two 9th grade students were making direct plans, comments and threats to other students and staff that involved plans to conduct a school shooting. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department says the investigation is ongoing and the two 9th grade students have been placed in secure detention awaiting a future court hearing on criminal charges.  

(Wisconsin) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation reminds you to be respectful to snowplow drivers as they clear the roads today.  If you approach a plow, please remain patient and only pass when safe to do so.  Motorists are required by law to stay at least 200 feet behind working snowplows on roads with a speed limit of more than 35 mph, and at least 75 feet on roads with a speed limit of 35 mph or less. 

(Waupun) The Waupun School District will hold the first of many informational sessions leading up to April’s $900,000 operations referendum on Thursday.  The initial drop-in session will be held tomorrow from 11:15am to 12:15pm at the Waupun Community Center at 520 McKinley Street.   The first formal presentation about the referendum is set for 1:30pm on Friday, February 28th at the Waupun Community Center.   You can find a full list of informational session dates at DailyDodge.com. 

(Columbus) The Columbus Council discussed a façade grant application for 152 and 152 and a half West James Street at a recent meeting. The requested amount is $5,080 dollars and includes a projecting sign, windows, and painting. During the meeting Alderwoman Sarah Motiff (motive) says small grant amounts should not come to the council, adding a policy was established a few years ago where the smaller amounts would go to the Columbus Developmental Authority.  After some further discussion, the matter was moved forward for a vote at a future council meeting.  

(Wisconsin) Twenty-Six sturgeon were taken from Lake Winnebago and 27 from Lake Poygan on Tuesday pushing the season total to 189 through the first four days of season.
