18-year-old arrested in Beaver Dam shooting investigation

BEAVER DAM — An 18-year-old Beaver Dam man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that injured a man early Saturday, May 30. According to the Beaver Dam Police Department, officers and detectives served a search warrant Thursday afternoon, June 4, in the 9500 block of Watts Road in Verona. Police say they were assisted by the Madison Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit and SWAT team.

During the contact, police say the suspect barricaded himself inside the residence. He was later arrested in connection with the May 30 shooting in Beaver Dam. The 18-year-old was transported to the Dodge County Jail on requested charges of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, felony bail jumping and misdemeanor bail jumping.

The incident remains under investigation. Beaver Dam police thanked the Madison Police Department, its Violent Crimes Unit and SWAT team for assisting in the investigation.
