(Juneau) Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says that tragedy was avoided earlier this week when one of his deputies was able to stop a wrong way driver on Highway 151.
“These are very serious and dangerous situations.” Schmidt said. “Last year with had three accidents that resulted in six fatalities. We need to to a better job in educating the public.”
Schmidt adds that wrong why drivers happened for various reasons including impairment, confusion about divided highways and even GPS use. He would like to see arrows painted on the on-ramps to 151 to better show drivers what direction they should be driving.
