(OSCEOLA) A woman is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a rollover crash in Fond du Lac County Monday morning.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to Highway 45 near Mitchell Road in the Township of Osceola just before 11 a.m. on April 6. The driver, a 57-year-old woman from Kewaskum, was unresponsive and trapped inside her vehicle.
Two bystanders helped a sheriff’s deputy remove the woman from the car. Deputies then administered CPR until she began breathing on her own again.
First responders called a ThedaStar medical helicopter to the scene due to the extent of the driver’s injuries, but the helicopter was unable to continue its flight due to inclement weather. The woman was then transported by ambulance to a hospital in Neenah.
Investigators say the woman had a medical incident while driving, which caused her to veer off the road and strike a driveway embankment. She was the only occupant in the vehicle.
The crash remains under investigation by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.
