(Wisconsin) Headed into the Memorial Day weekend, COVID community levels are “high” in 18 Wisconsin counties. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ryan Westergaard says people will need to make decisions on what they are comfortable with.
He says (quote)…“decisions are going to be different for everybody, because people have different tolerance for their risk…but the tools work for everybody – avoiding the virus, keeping yourself protected if you do get infected, knowing how to get treatment if you’re at risk for severe disease.”
Those tools include masking in indoor public spaces, staying up to date on vaccinations, and asking to be prescribed an anti-viral if you test positive and are at risk for COVID complications.
Dodge County’s COVID community level remains in the low category. Fond du Lac, Jefferson, Columbia, and Green Lake counties are the medium level. So far, 52.7-percent of Dodge County residents have received at least one dose of the vaccine while 50.6-percent have completed the vaccination series.
