Wisconsin Surpasses 100K Coronavirus Cases

(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials are reporting 1665 positive coronavirus cases in Sunday’s daily update, which is 20-percent of the 6600 tests announced. There are 14,143 active cases in the state, an increase of 472 people from Saturday. The Department of Health Services says since the pandemic started there have been a total of 101,227 cases. Active cases make up 14-percent of the 101-thousand people who have tested positive to date. So far, there have been 85-thousand recoveries.

State health officials recorded one death Sunday, for a total of 1,242. Deaths account for 1.2-percent of all cases in Wisconsin while 6.6-percent of those known to have contracted the virus needed to be hospitalized. Nationwide, the CDC says there have been 198-thousand deaths while the worldwide death toll is widely reported to be around 958-thousand people.

Dodge County had 27 more cases announced Sunday for a running total of 1600 with nine deaths on record. The county had 238 negative tests returned for a running total of 21,614. Public health officials in Dodge County are actively monitoring 256 people as of Friday.

Washington County has experienced 32 deaths along 2,268 cases, a one-day increase of 56 cases. Fond du Lac County has 1,713 positive tests on record along with 13 deaths. Jefferson County has reported seven deaths and 1,214 cases to date. There have been two deaths in Columbia County where there have been 506 cases. Green Lake County now has had 195 cases.
