(Beaver Dam) The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is accepting applications for the Shooting Range Grant Program from now until July 15, 2024.
There is over $800,000 available for various range improvement projects. This program financially supports the ability to make safe and convenient firearm and archery shooting sites for interested parties around the state.
Public and privately owned facilities both qualify and managers of existing ranges who are aiming to make improvements at their areas. Examples of previous grant-funded projects are constructing backstops, shooting benches, restrooms, and indoor ranges.
The funding is backed by a federal excise tax on firearms, ammunition, and archery equipment for the state.
