(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials reported 884 positive coronavirus cases in Wednesday’s daily update, which is 5.2-percent of the 17,000 tests announced. There are 9,629 active cases in the state, a decrease of 80 from Tuesday. Active cases make up 16.9-percent of the nearly 57-thousand people who have tested positive to date. So far, there have been 46-thousand recoveries.
There were nine deaths reported by state health officials, for a total of 970. Deaths accounted for 1.7-percent of all cases in Wisconsin while 8.5-percent of those known to have contracted the virus needed to be hospitalized. Nationwide, the CDC says there has been 156-thousand deaths while the worldwide death toll is widely reported to be around 701-thousand.
Dodge County has five deaths on record and 743 cases, an increase of 15 from Tuesday. The county had 173 negative tests returned for a running total of 15,903. Public health officials in Dodge County are actively monitoring 145 people while 356 have recovered.
Washington County has 22 deaths and 945 cases, a one-day increase of 32.
Fond du Lac County has six deaths and 584 positive tests to date.
Jefferson County has five deaths along with 581 cases.
There has been one death in Columbia County where there have been 233 positive cases.
Green Lake County now has 54 cases.
