(Wisconsin) The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection’s Division of Animal Health says to date, there have been no detections of the highly pathogenic avian influenza in state cattle, poultry, or wildlife with the genotype associated with dairy cattle detections in other states.
Federal officials say in the past 30 days H5N1 has been confirmed in 12 dairy herds in three states. In the coming weeks, there will be additional exhibitions and shows in Wisconsin. A state order requires testing of dairy cattle prior to a fair or exhibition.
