An environmental group’s annual report says Wisconsin ranks near the bottom in terms of beach quality. The National Resources Defense Council ranked Wisconsin 25th of 30 states with monitoring results. It found 11-percent of our 114 beaches monitored had exceeded the national recommended standard for water quality. The N-R-D-C says storm water runoff and sewage pollution are a problem in some Badger State lakes.
