A pair of Beaver Dam High School seniors signed National Letters of Intent to play NCAA Division I sports on Wednesday. Gabby Fakes signed to play softball at the University of Wisconsin and Gabby Wilke will be headed to South Dakota to play women’s college basketball.

Fakes is a three-time unanimous 1st Team All Badger Conference selection and played a major role in the Golden Beavers trip to the 2021 WIAA State Softball Tournament. Fakes says that the plan right now is for her to pitch for the Badgers. She says he would like to study either kinesiology or biology.

Here’s what South Dakota had to say about signing Wilke….
Gabby Wilke, a 6-foot-2 wing from Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, captured back-to-back Badger Conference Player of the Year honors as a sophomore and junior. She led the Beavers to their second-straight conference title last season while averaging 12.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and two assists per game. She garnered all-state honors for the second-straight season as her squad finished 22-4. Wilke also played golf and softball for the Beavers. A National Honor Society member and honor roll student, Wilke plans to major in either education or psychology at South Dakota.
