Division Four

Little Chute v. Columbus – DDTV

Columbus enters the game 11-1 and looks to punch their ticket to Camp Randall for the first time since they won the gold ball back in 2022. Their lone loss on the season came back in August when they fell to Aquinas on the road 34-13. Since then, the Cardinals have scored 40+ points in every game except their last, winning 38-19 over Mosinee to advance to the State Semi-Final. During the 10 game winning streak the Cardinals have shut out 4 opponents and have allowed only 11.3 PPG, much of which came in garbage time.

Their Opponent: The Little Chute Mustangs. The Mustangs come into the Semi-Final also sitting at 11-1. Their only defeat this Fall has come at the hands of Winneconne in the season opener, 14-6. Much like the Cardinals, Little Chute has been a dominant force this year. In their 11 game winning streak they have only won a game by one possession, once.

With both offenses well over 3,000 team rushing yards, the winner in the trenches seems to have a great chance to be in Madison, Wisconsin next Thursday.

Division Five

Lake Country Lutheran v. Mayville

The Mayville Cardinals are also looking to claim a spot in a State Championship game as they are set to take on fellow 1 seed, Lake Country Lutheran. Mayville (12-0) enters the matchup as one of the 2 remaining unbeatens in Division 5 (Northwestern). All 12 wins were not created equal however. Last week Mayville over came a 7 point deficit to Amherst in the waning moments to keep their season alive. They scored on a 4 yard Landen Baker TD run to make the score 21-20 with 0:59 seconds left but failed to convert on the 2 point conversion. Just when some thought the perfect season may be coming to an end the Cardinals recovered an onside kick in plus territory. On the ensuing play Emerson Mittelstadt connected on a 49 yard TD pass to Landen Baker to put the Cardinals ahead for good.

The undefeated Cardinals enter the game averaging over 330 yards a game on the ground and their defense brings the physicality as well, allowing just 7.8 PPG and shutting out 5 of their opponents.

Lake Country Lutheran enters the penultimate Friday of the high school season with an 11-1 record. Their only loss in 2025 came to the co-champions of the Metro Classic, Racine St. Catharine’s by a score of 28-6.

The winner of Friday’s game will head to Camp Randall and wait for the victor between Stratford and Northwestern to duke it out for a State Championship.
