Sports Participated In:
I participated in Football, Basketball and Baseball all four years of my high school. I also participated in travel baseball for Team Heat.
Favorite High School Athletic Moment
One of my greatest athletic moments during high school sports is winning Division 4 WIAA State Football my sophomore year (2022). It was a very surreal experience as we played Catholic Memorial at Camp Randall and the snow was falling for part of the game, and it truly felt like we were in a snow globe. The whole experience was surreal and those memories of that week leading up to the game, and the way our community rallied around us and the day itself will always hold a special place in my heart.
I’m also really enjoying having my younger brother, Maddux Allain, on the same team as me during this baseball season.
Pre-Game/Event Routine To Get Focused For Competition Include…
Getting to the game early to hit in the cages with my teammates or go to the outfield to stretch, and to have peace and quiet to mentally get myself ready.
Advice You Would Give To A Freshman High School Athlete
Your four years of high school will fly by. Put everything into making yourself better and when you think you are doing the most you can do, do more. Do what the next guy isn’t willing to do, waking up early, spending your summer weekends at baseball tournaments, batting practice on your own, etc. You will be thankful for all your hard work later.
A Person(s) Who Had A Major Impact On My Athletic Career & Why Is…
Definitely my parents! They have given me every opportunity to succeed, have always been there to support me on and off the field in the highs and lows. They have also spent countless hours and weekends at ball games, including hauling me around the Midwest to play baseball every weekend in the summer.
Plans For After Graduation
I will be attending Edgewood College this Fall with plans to major in Sports Management and/or Teaching with the plan of being an Athletic Director or working in the sports industry. As a student ambassador of the WIAA Student Athletic Leadership Team (SALT), I’ve been given some amazing opportunities and experiences and would love to continue doing something in the sports industry.
I will also be fulfilling a dream of playing baseball at the collegiate level next year at Edgewood College.
I also attended courses through Madison Area Technical College while in High School and received a Real Estate Certificate so I’m hoping to take the state Real Estate License in the near future.
Favorite High School Class
I’ve really enjoyed Art classes.
Favorite High School Teacher & Why
This is a hard choice, as I’ve had so many great teachers in High School. I would have to say I really enjoyed Mr. Zahn’s history class as I liked his teaching style and made the class interesting. I also have to give a big shoutout to our Math Teachers, Mr. and Mrs. Leathers, who have been to almost all of the sporting events since freshman year, both home and away. It says a lot about teachers who continue to support their students outside the classroom. I also am extremely grateful to our Athletic Director, Mr. Freerking, who has given unconditional support and encouragement to me throughout my four years.
Most Interesting Place I’ve Ever Visited Is…
I have taken several family vacations so I am not sure if I have one place that is my favorite. Some of my favorite trips though were traveling in our RV to Yellowstone, Colorado and out east to the Football Hall of Fame, New York City, and the Little League World Series. My favorite beach vacation was either Aruba or St. Thomas Virgin Islands.
