WBEV-WXRO Children’s Radiothon Surpasses $2-Million Dollars

(Beaver Dam) Another milestone for the WBEV/WXRO Children’s Radiothon surpassing the $2-million-dollar mark. Good Karma Brands CEO Craig Karmazin announced the fundraising total this (Friday) morning following the 27-hour marathon broadcast saying that the event brought-in $127,350.48. That brings the 22-year-total to $2-million-123-thousand-574-dollars.

Noel’s Angel Walk, organized by Scott and Lori Smith in memory of their one-year-old daughter, raised $8800 and their son Nate’s Lemonade Stand added another $1000 to the total. The Radiothon benefits 14 local charities that work with kids.

The non-profits include PAVE, Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Wisconsin, Green Valley Enterprises, the YMCA of Dodge County, Clothes for Kids, the Watertown Family Center, ARC Dodge County, Community Care Preschool, the Dodge County Center for the Arts, Church Health Services, CARE for Dodge County and –new this year – Bo’s Heavenly Club House, the Pregnancy Support Center and the Gathering Source. Last year, there was $136,311.94 collected.
