(Beaver Dam) Students at Wayland Academy will be hitting the stage, beginning this Thursday to perform their fall production of Shrek the Musical. The musical is based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks film Shrek. Kat Fogarty, who plays Fiona, explains why the public should attend the play.
“We put a lot of hard work into the show and especially it’s a big thing for the community,” says Fogarty. “And just having everyone be able to come in and see the show not only means a lot to the students and everyone, but to Wayland as a whole to see that there are community members there for it.”
Kurt Kelly plays the titular character.
“If you like big grumpy, big fat green men, you should come see Shrek the Musical’”, says Kelly.
Wayland Academy will be putting on performances of Shrek the Musical on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Each show starts at 7:30pm in the Lindsay Auditorium. Doors open at 7pm.
