(Beaver Dam) Wayland Academy recently announced a new face will lead its admissions department. Officials with the co-ed college preparatory school in Beaver Dam say Andrea Chesley of East Hampton, New York will take the role of dean of enrollment and financial aid.
She comes to Wayland from Ross School, where she served as the director of enrollment management for four years. Head of School Jason Warnick says they are excited to have Chesley join their faculty.
โ€œAndrea is a team builderโ€ฆsheโ€™s the ultimate professionalโ€ฆsheโ€™s super creativeโ€ฆvery competitiveโ€ฆso I know sheโ€™ll do a great job in the enrollment management position,โ€ says Warnick. โ€œ[She will be] managing all the financial aid and the scholarships which are a huge part of our enrollment at Wayland. But most importantly sheโ€™s passionate about teenagers, high school, and Wayland Academy.โ€
At Wayland, Chesley will also lead a group of students as their faculty mentor as well as coach the Academyโ€™s new cheerleading program. Warnick says she moved to Beaver Dam with her husband who is also taking a position with the school.
โ€œShe and her husband, Daniel Donovan whoโ€™s our new director of STEAM, have both moved in this summer,โ€ says Warnick. โ€œAndrea is already in the office and working with the admissions team. And then Daniel will kick off his classes in a couple of weeks.โ€
Warnick says Chelsey holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in choreography and Post Baccalaureate in secondary education from Arizona State University.
More than 125 boarding students from 30 different countries will be moving onto the Wayland campus in mid to late August. About one third of Wayland students are day students, who will commute to class every day from Beaver Dam and surrounding communities.
