A Wayland Academy rower is headed to the national stage.
Big Red junior Aleksa Nenadic has qualified for the 2026 Scholastic National Rowing Championship Regatta, which will be held this weekend in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Nenadic, a native of Serbia, earned his spot at nationals after capturing a bronze medal at the Midwest Scholastic Regatta in Milford, Michigan, earlier this spring. While the top two finishers at each regional automatically qualify, Nenadic received an at-large bid based on his strong third-place performance.
Nenadic is one of just 18 rowers nationwide to qualify for the championship event. Preliminary heats are scheduled for Friday, with the semifinals and finals taking place Saturday.
