Waupun Woman Sentenced For Stealing $27K

(Waupun) A Waupun woman was sentenced this week to 120 days in jail for stealing almost $27-thousand dollars from her mother-in-law. Nicole Grauvogl pled no contest to two felony counts of Misappropriate ID to Obtain Money in November. Sentencing for the second felony charge was postponed until next year. The victim called police in June of 2015 after she questioned activity in her checking account. Officers say they found more than 100 transactions at a Waupun convenience store from her account — and the store’s surveillance video identified Grauvogl as the suspect. A three-year prison sentenced was imposed and stayed and the 38-year-old will serve her four-month jail sentence with work release privileges. In addition to jail time, Grauvogl was placed on probation for four years and was ordered to pay over $26-thousand dollars in restitution.
