Waupun Man Seriously Injured In Rosendale Crash

(Rosendale) A Waupun man was seriously injured following a two vehicle crash in the Town of Rosendale Wednesday morning. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Highway M north of Triangle Road around 7:20am. The initial investigation showed that a northbound passenger car crossed the centerline on Highway M and struck a southbound minivan.

The driver and lone occupant of the passenger car, a 28-year-old Waupun man, had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center by helicopter with serious injuries. The operated of the minivan, a 45-year-old Pickett woman, was not injured along with a nine-year-old male passenger. Another passenger, an 11-year-old boy, was taken to ThedaCare for his injuries and was released.

Authorities say the Waupun man was not wearing a seatbelt while the Pickett woman was restrained. They say the seatbelt use of the two young passengers is unknown at this time. The crash remains under investigation. Assisting at the scene was the Village of Rosendale Police Department, Town of Ripon Police Department, Rosendale First Responders, Rosendale Fire Department and Ripon Ambulance. Highway M was closed between Fletcher Rd and Triangle Rd for approximately one-and-a-half hours.
