Waupun Correctional Inmate Charged With Battery By Prisoner

(Waupun) An inmate at Waupun Correctional has been charged with kicking several members of the staff and hitting another in the head with a bar of soap. Cameron Williams is facing three felony counts of Battery By Prisoner stemming from two separate incidents that occurred in 2021.

In one, correctional staff attempted to secure Williams in his cell but he allegedly kicked one of the guards in the shin multiple times and another on the foot. He also tried to spit at staff, according to the complaint.

When questioned, Williams reportedly said he does not like it when people touch him.

In another incident, Williams is accused of hitting a guard who was passing supplies into the cell with a bar of soap. When the guard sought medical treatment, he learned that he had a mild concussion. Williams allegedly said he was not in the right state of mind and is diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

If convicted, the 23-year-old faces another 18 years in prison. An initial appearance is scheduled for September 19th.
