(WAUPUN) Waupun Correctional Institution recently hosted a graduation ceremony for 17 inmates who earned high school equivalency diplomas. Wisconsin Department of Corrections Secretary Jared Hoy and Deputy Warden Alisha Kraus joined nearly 50 friends and family to honor the graduates.
The ceremony at the prison, that took place earlier this month, was the first in-person graduation since December 2024 when 13 inmates were recognized for earning their High School diploma.
In addition to the 17 graduates, two others earned their certification in Office Software Applications from Moraine Park Technical College. Four other students were recognized for being members of the Moraine Park Honor Society.
