Watertown Teen Facing Felony Burglary Charges

(Watertown) A Watertown teen accused of burglarizing a business has made his initial appearance in court. Willow Grimmenga is facing a felony charge of Burglary.

Police were dispatched to the commercial property, not named in the complaint, last November after an alarm was tripped. Security footage captured three individuals with hoods entering the store and stealing various items that were left on the counter and in display cases. The total amount taken was valued at around $2,800.

Officers were able to lift a footprint from the scene during their investigation. Watertown authorities then received a tip that Grimmenga was reportedly one of the culprits. The 18-year-old allegedly admitted his actions to a relative. According to the complaint, the state crime lab also matched a pair of his shows to the print taken.

If convicted, Grimmenga faces up to 12-and-a-half years in prison. Cash bond was set at $1,000 and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 28th.
