Watertown Regional Medical Center Recognized For Patient Safety

(Watertown) Watertown Regional Medical Center was recently recognized for its commitment to patient safety. The hospital was named a recipient of Healthgrades’ 2025 Patient Safety Excellence Award.

The award recognizes hospitals that excel at providing top-quality care while preventing serious safety events during hospital stays. To be eligible, hospitals must meet certain clinical quality thresholds.

Watertown Regional’s Chief Nursing Officer Patricia Gedemer says they are thrilled to once again earn this elite honor from Healthgrades that recognizes their hospital’s steadfast commitment to providing the highest quality care in the safest environment. She adds that this is yet another validation of their team members and the culture of safety they have created at Watertown.

This designation marks the third consecutive year the hospital has earned the top honor for patient safety from Healthgrades. In 2024, Watertown was recognized by The Chartis Center for Rural Health as one of the 100 top-performing rural and community hospitals in the nation.
