Watertown Police Department Hosting Presentation On Human Trafficking

(Watertown) The Watertown Police Department is hosting a presentation on the dangers of social media and human trafficking next week. It is in partnership with the Washington County Anti-Trafficking Advocates. Chief Dave Brower says the program is free and open to the public.ย 

โ€œ[It is] a good time to learn about different aspects of human traffickingโ€ฆhow social media can be used to exploit and to groom people for those sorts of things,โ€ says Brower. โ€œIt is a good training on how to identify the signs of groomingโ€ฆlooking for red flagsโ€ฆhow to report these thingsโ€ฆresources people can look out for and engage with to prevent this from happening.โ€ 

A resource fair starts at 6pm and the presentation gets underway at 6:30 and goes until 8pm in the lower level of the police department at 106 Jones Street.
