Watertown Man Killed Following Collision With Semi

(Watertown) One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash in the town of Oak Grove Friday morning. Dodge County sheriff’s deputies were called to Highway A/I south of County Highway S around 10:10am.

The preliminary investigation shows that a Buick Regal was northbound on A/I when it failed to negotiate a slight right-hand curve and entered the southbound lane. The Buick then collided with a southbound semi pulling a trailer.

The semi came to a rest across both lanes of traffic. The Buick ended up against a tree on the east side of the roadway.

The driver of the Buick, identified as a 42-year-old Watertown man, had to be extricated from his vehicle and was flown to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee. He was later pronounced deceased.

The operator of the semi, a 50-year-old Illinois man, sustained minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
