Watertown Man Heading To Prison For Teen Assault

(Watertown) A Watertown man who violated probation after raping a young teenager was in Dodge County court for a revocation hearing Monday. In June of 2015, Dylan Zimmerman was sentenced to a six-month jail term with work release privileges and five years’ probation after pleading no contest to a felony count of Sexual Assault of a Child Under the Age of 16. Prosecutors say Zimmerman knew the victim through the Recreation and Outreach Center in Watertown and found her walking down the street crying because of problems with her family. Zimmerman talked with her at a local park before assaulting her, refusing her repeated pleas for him to stop. A prison sentenced was imposed and stayed, and the 26-year-old would have avoided prison all together if he stayed out of trouble while on probation. Zimmerman was ordered Monday to serve seven years in prison and eight years of extended supervision.
