Watertown Fire Chief Praises New Station

(WATERTOWN) The Watertown Fire Department has been in its new station for three months. Fire Chief Tanya Reynen says it’s a big improvement over the old fire station.

“They have air conditioning where they can do and do reports; they didn’t have that before,” said Reynen. “We had one toilet on the main floor, so no more lines to go to the restroom. Our EMS supplies were in the basement. You had to go down the stairs, across city hall, into the basement storage room to get it.”

Reynen told Daily Dodge that all of that makes it easier for firefighters and first responders to do their job, which is to keep people and property safe. The new fire station cost $12.5 million to build. It opened in mid-May.
