(Watertown) The Watertown Fire Department recently joined Community Comment to give a staffing update. Chief Tanya Reinen says the station is doing much better than when she started in the role last April.
“We just recently had two new people start with us a couple of weeks ago, Drew and Tyler, and they have gone through their two-week academy and just started working shifts,” says Reynen. “So, for the first month they do ride time, or their staff does an extra person on the ambulance just to kind of get accumulated and acclimated to how we run EMS calls. If there is a fire call, what it all looks like for them.”
Reynen says they will continue compiling a list of candidates and hope to fill one last opening.
