Veterans Outreach Of Wisconsin Helping Veterans In Need

(Beaver Dam) Based in Racine, the Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin is an organization that works to make a difference in the lives of at-risk veteran households in every community across the state. Marketplace Warehouse Manager Dylan Richter says the organization has two parts.

“The first part of it is a tiny home village where we assist homeless veterans that come in and are struggling with homelessness,” says Richter. “Currently we have 15 tiny homes, we’re looking at getting another one zoned through the city. So, we’re looking at a 16th.”

Richter says the second part of the Racine-based organization is the marketplace. He says the biggest need in the marketplace right now is shelf stable meals.

“Things like dinners, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, noodles, pasta,” Richer says. “And obviously things for Thanksgiving that we got coming up too.”

Richter says the organization receives donations from Amazon, Kroger, Target, and Walmart. Community donations are also welcome, in person and online. A link to donate online is available HERE.
