(CALUMET) No children were hurt when a school bus was hit by a vehicle Tuesday morning in Calumet.
Reports of the crash came in to Fond du Lac County sheriff’s deputies just after 7am. It happened on County Highway W, just west of St. Paul Road.
The preliminary investigation showed that an eastbound passenger car struck the rear of the stopped bus while its warning lights and stop arm were activated. The bus was carrying 12 kids, all were uninjured.
The driver of the car, a 56-year-old woman from Malone, sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The woman told law enforcement that direct sunlight impacted her vision and is considered a contributing factor in the accident.
