Two From Rio Area Killed In Columbia County Crash

(Wisconsin) Weather conditions were a factor in a head on crash that left two dead in Columbia County. A driver and passenger were killed in a two-vehicle crash near Rio just after 6:30pm Thursday night.

The sheriff’s department says the operator lost control on a snowy and icy stretch of Highway B and struck a truck head on. The passenger was found by first responders dead at the scene while the driver was in serious condition.

Lifesaving measures were performed but the individual succumbed to their injuries on scene. The driver of the truck was not hurt.

No names have been released but authorities say everyone involved in the crash is from the Rio area.
