Two Beaver Dam Men Arrested In Stolen Car That Sparked High Speed Chase

(Beaver Dam) A high-speed chase that started in Fond du Lac County with a car stolen in the Madison-area ended near Beaver Dam early Saturday morning. The incident started around 2am when a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy attempted a traffic stop on a suspected stolen vehicle on Highway 26 in the Town of Springvale. The driver stopped, exited and surrendered himself to law enforcement. That’s when a passenger inside the vehicle got behind the wheel and fled southbound on Highway 26 at a high rate of speed. The stolen vehicle then headed south on Highway 151, reaching speeds up to 130mph.  The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office then assisted in the pursuit by successfully deploying tire deflation devices on Highway 151 at Dodge County Highway A. The suspect vehicle exited the highway and eventually left the roadway on Kellom Road near Beaver Dam. The pursuit lasted 20 miles. The suspect then fled on foot for a short distance before he was apprehended by Fond du Lac County deputies. The first driver was identified as a 21-year-old Beaver Dam man. He was cited for Operating After Suspension. The second driver was identified as a 20-year-old Beaver Dam man. He is facing charges of felony Fleeing, Operating a Motor Vehicle While Impaired, Operating After Revocation, Reckless Driving, Possession of THC and Speeding.  The Waupun Police Department also assisted in the pursuit.
