Tuesday Is Spring General Election In Wisconsin

(Dodge County) Polls open at 7am across Dodge County for today’s (Tuesday’s) Spring General Election. Statewide races include justice of the Supreme Court where Susan Crawford faces off against Brad Schimel. For state superintendent of public instruction: incumbent Jill Underly is facing a challenge from Brittany Kinser.  

There are several contested town board races this year. That includes Calamus where incumbent David Stange is going up against Matthew Buchda for town board supervisor 1. In the Calamus town board supervisor 2 race, incumbent Jake Rake is facing a challenge from George Stegner. In the town of Emmet, Chairperson Steve Faltersack Jr. is seeking reelection against Larry Schwefel. Emmet town board supervisor one Richard Walter is going up against Aaron Zuehlke. In the town of Hubbard, incumbent Board Supervisor James Persha is going up against Frederic Benishek; meanwhile incumbent Supervisor David Feller is facing a challenge from David Warczytowa. In the town of Lebanon, incumbent Pam Conway is going up against Tim May. Mike Stark and Kevin Maulson are vying for the town board supervisor two seat. There is a contested race for Lomira town chair, pitting incumbent Jeffrey Faber against Cody Buerger. In the town of Shields, three people are running for two open seats on the town board: Robb Borchardt, incumbent Peter McFarland, and Steven Yohn. In the town of Theresa, incumbent Dale Dyer is facing a challenge from Rick Steger for the supervisor one seat. Incumbent Neil Burns is going up against Pete Buske for the town of Theresa board supervisor two seat. 

In contested Dodge County village races, in Theresa six people are running for three open seats. They are Shawn Krapfl, James Polster Jr., Patrick Bodden, David Fewless, Robin Billings, and Linda Herman.  

In the city of Beaver Dam, all odd number districts are up for reelection on the common council and there are no contested races. The incumbents in each district are seeking reelection except in District 11, where there is no candidate listed on the ballot. Current Alderwoman Kay Appenfeldt elected not to run again.  

There are two contested mayoral races in our listening area. In the city of Hartford, Joseph Fulop and Dennis Regan are both vying to serve as mayor. In Watertown, Robert Stocks and Steven Board are seeking to be elected mayor. Also in Watertown, there is a contested race for district five alderperson. Incumbent Brad Blanke is facing a challenge from Eric Kluge. 

In Dodge County school board races, there are four people vying for three open seats on the Beaver Dam School Board. They are Chad Prieve, Isaac Dornfeld, and Mary Kuntz who are the incumbents, along with Steve Rydzewski. There are three people running for two open seats on the Fall River School Board: Jeff Abegglen, Guy Robbins, and Kelly Remus. There are five people running for three open seats on the Herman – Neosho – Rubicon School District Board. They are Zachary Talarek, Scott Winzenried, James Stommel, Dan Siegmann, and Colten Schmitt. There are two contested races for a seat on the Lomira School Board. For a zone three seat, Maggie Landowski is going up against Linda Pickart. For a zone four seat, Mike Sacotte is facing Rick Welak. In the Watertown School District, six people are running for three open seats. They are Tammy Fournier, Carl Schwarze, David Schroeder, Charity Chandler, Craig Wortman, and Steve Good.  

A number of local school district will have operational referendum questions on the ballot during Tuesday’s election. They include Columbus, Dodgeland, Hustisford, Oakfield, Randolph, Watertown, and Waupun.
