(KEWASKUM) Washington County is addressing the middle-income housing shortage. Officials broke ground Monday, June 9 on a development called Regal Place in Kewaskum. 48 new townhomes should be ready to buy this fall.
“These are folks that become rooted in your community, and give back to your community more than just a tax bill or a job,” said Washington County Executive Josh Schoemann. “But helping local nonprofit organizations, church groups, civic organizations, and so much more.”
The Regal Place development is part of Washington County’s goal to build 1,000 new owner-occupied homes by 2032. Schoemann was Monday’s guest on “Community Comment” on WBEV.
