(Beaver Dam) An update on the Beaver Dam transit study has been presented to the council and several stakeholders. Thanks to the over 400 participants in an SRF Consulting group survey with various questions regarding mass transit in the area, Beaver Dam is moving the needle with the conversation.
The plan is to come back to the first council meeting Monday night, where there will be recommendations. This could include various options and alternatives such as: a fixed route throughout the city, a flex route, or even a micro-transit system that City Administrator Nathan Thiel said is a convenient method for those in need of transportation.
โ[A micro transit] is a system that uses apps and technology to elevate the ability to respond and attend to individuals that are asking for a ride,โ Thiel said.
Future steps include conversations on deciding between those various transit methods and payment for the transit system.
