Teenagers Sentenced to Life in Prison for Fond du Lac Murder After Courtroom Fight

(FOND DU LAC — WTMJ) After a courtroom brawl between the victim’s and a defendant’s family and friends on Friday, two teenagers were sentenced to life in prison for the 2023 murder of Tatyanna Zec.

17-year-old Parise Larry and 19-year-old Antonio Johnston, who were 14 and 17 at the time of the shooting, recieved life sentences without the possibility of parole.

Their sentencing hearings were delayed for over an hour after multiple verbal fights in the courtroom’s public gallery quickly turned physical, continued in the public hallways and disrupted several other court proceedings. About 25 law enforcement officers responded to the fights and arrested two people.

According to investigators, 20-year-old Tatyanna Zech was taking out the trash after a family barbecue when she was shot in the head at Maplewood Commons in May 2023. Larry and Johnston were involved in a conflict with another man when Zech was caught in the crossfire.

Larry was found guilty at trial of first-degree intentional homicide, attempted first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree reckless injury, four counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety and possession of a weapon under 18. Johnston pled guilty to similar charges.
