State Wrestling: Saturday Wrap Up…Marshall’s Dylan Horstmeyer Is State Runner-Up

Here’s a mid-day update from the WIAA State Individual Wrestling Tournament on Saturday…..

Markesan’s Bryce Friday finished third in the Division 3, 285 bracket with three wins today.


Division Two


113 CF/Rio/Pardeeville ‘s Jayden Price finishes 6th. On Saturday Price was pinned by Wyatt Kaczrowski of Seymour in 2:24, then lost by fall in 2:23 to Brendan Konitzer of Octonto Falls.


Division Three


113  Markesan’s Cole Slark earns 4th place.  He advanced this morning when Karter Stuttgen of Stratford had to forfeit, then he was pinned by Troy Dolphin of Kenosha Christian Life in 1:52.


145 Dodgeland’s Hayden Kurth saw his tournament end on Saturday morning when he was defeated by Hunter Bruhn of Phillips 13-2


170 Horicon’s Brandon Zamorano finished 6th.  This morning he was defeated by fall at 1:26 by Random Lake’s Samuel Schwabe.  Then dropped an 8-2 decision to Tyler Hach of Riverdale.


170 Marshall’s Dylan Horstmeyer is the state runner up in D3 at 170.  He was pinned in 2:49 by Cadott’s Brady Spaeth in the title match.


285 Markesan’s Bryce Friday rallied back for 3rd place with three wins on Saturday.  First, he stuck Logan Klass of Femimore at 2:32, then defeated Evan Grubbs of Kenosha Christian Life 8-2.  He took 3rd by avenging his quarterfinal loss to Justin Farkus of Amherst by pinning him in 2:42.
