State Representative Mark Born Announces Reelection Campaign

(Madison) Mark Born announced Monday that he is seeking reelection to the Wisconsin State Assembly. The Beaver Dam Republican is serving his sixth term in the Assembly, currently representing the 39th District. Due to new legislative maps, if reelected to the seat, Born would represent the 37th Assembly District.

As with every election cycle, Born says he looks forward to spending time outside of Madison.

โ€œTalking to votersโ€ฆgetting a chance to both share what weโ€™ve accomplished but also what the challenges are and here from the community whatโ€™s important to themโ€ฆthatโ€™s what Iโ€™ve spent the last 12 yearsโ€ฆmaking sure that the common sense conservative values of this area are represented in Madisonโ€ฆIโ€™ve got a really strong record of that and happy to talk about thatโ€ฆand talk about what our next shared goals as a community are for our representation in the state of Wisconsin.โ€

Born, who is co-chair of the Joint Finance Committee, says the new legislative maps will bring a new district number and some changes to the areas he has historically represented. He adds that while losing parts of Dodge County he had represented for years is difficult, he is excited to be adding new communities such as Waupun, Randolph, Fox Lake, and parts of southern Fond du Lac County.

Born continues to be active in the community by serving on the Dodge County Historical Society Board of Curators and Leadership Beaver Dam Steering Committee. He is a member of Trinity Church – United Methodist in Beaver Dam, Watertown/Beaver Dam Elks Lodge 666, Beaver Dam Lake Improvement Association, Ducks Unlimited, and Friends of The Horicon Marsh.

The 37th Assembly District includes the following twenty-one municipalities: In Dodge County the Townships of Beaver Dam, Burnett, Calamus, Chester, Fox Lake, Leroy, Lomira, Trenton, and Westford; the Villages of Brownsville, Kekoskee, Lomira, and Randolph; the Cities of Beaver Dam, Fox Lake, Mayville, and Waupun. In Fond du Lac County the Townships of Byron, Oakfield, and Waupun; the Village of Oakfield; the City of Waupun. In Columbia County the Village of Randolph.
